“APPLAUSE 2010”

 

APPLAUSE IS AN INDEPENDENT,

ADJUDICATED COMPETITION

FOR STUDENTS IN THE SANTA YNEZ VALLEY.

THERE ARE 2 CATEGORIES: 

LITERARY ARTS, AND VISUAL ARTS.

STUDENTS MAY SUBMIT APPLICATIONS IN MULTIPLE CATEGORIES.

 

THIS YEAR, ARTS OUTREACH AND THE ARTISTS GUILD OF THE SANTA YNEZ VALLEY WILL WORK IN PARTNERSHIP ON THE VISUAL ARTS CATEGORY OF APPLAUSE.

 

VISUAL ARTS in partnership with SYV Guild of Artists

 

Open to students in 5^th – 12 grade.

Limit 2 entries per student. 

All work must be matted or framed.

Finalists will be chosen from each of the following groups: 5/6^th Grade, 7/8^th Grade, 9/10^th Grade, 11/12^th Grade.

Finalists’ pieces from 9/10^th Grade and 11/12^th Grade will be hung in the Artists Guild room, Gallery Los Olivos from April 7^th to May 5^th.

All other pieces and finalists will be hung in the Arts Outreach office from April 7^th to May 5^th.

An overall 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place will be awarded from the finalists.  These places will have a monetary award, donated by the Artists Guild of $100, $50 and $25 respectively.

Two art receptions will be held in Los Olivos on April 18^th 2010, for all participants, family and friends.

There is an entry fee of $5 for each piece, scholarships are available upon request.

 

LITERARY ARTS

 

Open to students in 5^th – 12^th grade. 

Entry categories are as follows:  poetry, short story, essay.

Limit one entry per student per category. 

All work must be typed, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins.

 

 

PICK UP AN APPLICATION FORM FROM YOUR SCHOOL OFFICE, OR THE ARTS OUTREACH OFFICE, 2353 HOLLISTER STREET, LOS OLIVOS.

 

ALL ENTRY FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE ARTS OUTREACH OFFICES BY 5PM ON
